Drawing from the traditional theme of the Pietà, Inanis Pietas explores both individual and collective powerlessness against forces that exceed personal agency. The collapsed and solitary figure, stripped of the traditional symbols of devotion and maternity, embodies an abandonment where protection once existed. The viewer is confronted with a recognition of the limits of agency and ineffectiveness of their own will.
